    Christmas at Blenheim
    22 November  - 1 January

It’s the most wonderful time of the year as treetops glisten and the Great Lake and the waterfall of Blenheim Palace shimmer and sparkle. There’s something for everyone as the one mile glittering path winds its way through the world-famous Parkland in a magical after dark experience.

You’ll notice all-new installations this year too. From Sky-Lights, an aerial light show filling the sky with dancing bands of colour, to the dynamic waterfall at The Cascade. From the mesmerising and immersive ribbons of light at Vines to a more reflective place where, beneath the branches of sprawling trees, the flowers softly glow at Snowdrop Walk.

To those who have been before, rest assured. The towering Tunnel of Light will once again twinkle with over 100,000 pea-lights, the bouncing lines of light in the woodland Laser Garden and the flickering flames of the scented Fire Garden all return. Christmas at Blenheim Palace wouldn’t be complete without the Water Terrace Finale as jumping beams of light dance across the historic façade to much-loved Christmas classics.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas and complete your walk under the stars with spiced cider, mulled wine or hot chocolate*. Gather around the fire-pit with family and friends to toast marshmallows* and end the evening browsing the well-stocked gift shop in the East Courtyard. Why not pick up some treats for the journey home.

For the young ones in all of us there’s a Victorian carousel*, Helter-skelter* and other family rides* and don’t forget to look out for Father Christmas and his elves along the way.

    Alice in the Palace
    22 November - 5 January

New for 2019, Blenheim Palace is where everything becomes curiouser and curiouser. The magic of Alice in Wonderland will be exquisitely captured in an enchanting daytime experience for all the family.

The scene is set as you step between the pages of a larger-than-life storybook into Alice’s amazingly topsy-turvy world. Wander down the rabbit-hole corridor, through the Hall of Mirrors, along the Hall of Doors and into historic rooms, sometimes grand, sometimes dainty, but always filled with hidden surprises.

The sights and sounds around you conjure up a wild assortment of curious characters; The White Rabbit is in his sitting room – he mustn’t be late, you know. The world of the Caterpillar is filled with flowers, foliage and of course a rather large mushroom, the Cheshire Cat might leave you with a grin whilst the room filled with crystal drops and shimmering light must be home to the Pool of Tears. Sometimes things are bigger than they should be and sometimes smaller. Are you a small person in a huge place or a tall person in a tiny space? Or is it all an illusion?

There’s no mistaking The Queen of Hearts and her giant jam tarts, surrounded by pink flamingos, rambling roses and hedgehogs. The Long Library, complete with sparkling giant peacocks, is transformed into the perfectly scrumptious setting for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. It’s a wonderful world of make believe.

Don’t forget to visit The Stables to rummage through the dressing up box. Become a White Rabbit, Queen, Knave or Alice herself. Once in your finery recreate your very own adventure for a selfie or two.
