Founded in 1966 by Raymond Gubbay, the company is recognised as being at the forefront of promoting and producing live music,ballet, illuminated trails and events in the United Kingdom. The company now regularly presents over 500 performances each year in London, around the UK and abroad.

The company is proud to have brought a host of prestigious artists to British audiences. From the operatic world, recent concerts include performances by Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Bryn Terfel, Joseph Calleja, Rolando Villazon and Angela Gheorghiu. Crossover artists have included sold out shows with 2 Cellos, The Piano Guys, David Garrett, Katherine Jenkins and Russell Watson. The company has also presented international ballet in London including visits by New York City Ballet, Mark Morris Dance Group, Carlos Acosta, Sylvie Guillem, Bejart Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. Raymond Gubbay have also presented national tours of Anton and Erin every year since 2009 and the Russian State Ballet of Siberia for over 15 years.

Raymond Gubbay is also well known for its co-productions at London’s Royal Albert Hall. A successful partnership over two decades has brought arena scale opera to the masses.  Productions have included La bohème, Tosca, Carmen, Aida and a widely acclaimed staging of Madam Butterfly where the floor of the Royal Albert Hall is flooded with water to create a beautiful Japanese water-garden over which the story unfolds. Staged in-the-round, these performances have brought new audiences to opera with each season regularly playing to in excess of 50,000 people. By partnering with English National Ballet in conjunction with the Royal Albert Hall, Raymond Gubbay  has also staged spectacular in-the-round productions of the world’s favourite ballets including Romeo and Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.

Other successful collaborations have produced Christmas at Kew for which a festive trail of lights is created around the world famous botanical gardens; Christmas at Blenheim, an illuminated trail through the stunning gardens of Blenheim Palace, Kew the Music which has featured artists including Paloma Faith, Jools Holland, Simply Red and UB40 as part of a summer music festival, and, in 2013, when Raymond Gubbay was chosen to produce a series of concerts celebrating the anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s Coronation in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Popular Christmas concerts staged by the company have become a festive tradition at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican in London, as well as all the other main concert halls across the country, staging over 100 performances in the month of December.

In 1989 Raymond Gubbay first staged Classical Spectacular, combining favourite classical music with a stunning visual display of lighting, lasers and pyrotechnics. The show has now played to an audience in excess of two million people in arenas around the UK, throughout Europe and Australia and, most notably, 12 sold out performances each year at the Royal Albert Hall. Combining classical music with the latest technology and special effects has led the Company forward in to other related productions including Space Spectacular, John Williams Spectacular, Superheroes at the Symphony and many more. For these performances the company works with some of the world’s most renowned orchestras including in the UK the Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia, CBSO and The Hallé, and abroad, the Melbourne Symphony and Sydney Symphony orchestras.
