Russell Watson - The Best of British

‘The Best of British’ at the Royal Albert Hall

Russell Watson, hailed as one of the world’s greatest classical singers, stars in ‘The Best of British’ with Natasha Marsh and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in June.

Since being described by the New York Times as a performer “who sings like Pavarotti and entertains the audience like Sinatra”, Russell Watson has released ten studio albums. His endearing popularity, with his recognition by the public as the ‘People’s Tenor’, has been reflected by the critics with numerous awards including four Classical Brits. Russell Watson has performed for some of the world’s greatest figures such as: The Queen; the late Pope John Paul II who requested a private audience with Russell at the Vatican, and former US presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush.  He has sung at many prestigious events including the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in 2002, where he sang to a worldwide audience of one billion, and at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Coronation Gala Festival of 2013.

‘The Best of British’ concert promises to be a rousing performance of uplifting favourites in the magnificent splendour of the Royal Albert Hall. The programme will include much loved works such as: ‘Jerusalem’, ‘Hallelujah Chorus’, ‘Rule, Britannia!’, ‘Zadok the Priest’, ‘Abide With Me’, ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square’, ‘Men of Harlech’ and ‘Land of Hope and Glory’.
