Established to perform at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and other major venues in Scotland, the Scottish Concert Orchestra gave its inaugural sell-out performance of the Christmas Gala concert, conducted by Andrew Greenwood in December 1997 to great critical acclaim.

The Orchestra, assembled from leading professional musicians based in the area, performs a wide variety of successful concerts such as a Classical Gala Night, the Valentine’s Day concert, The Magic of Gilbert & Sullivan, White Christmas, The Sound of Musicals, The Glory of Christmas  and an Opera Gala Night with renowned conductors including John Owen Edwards, Fraser Goulding, John Pryce-Jones and Anthony Inglis and guest performers that include, Katherine Jenkins, Lance Ellington and Jamie MacDougall.

Following sell-out seasons of their popular Christmas concerts at the Royal Concert Hall for several years, in 2000, the Scottish Concert Orchestra extended its December concerts season to the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.

Since 2010 the orchestra has also accompanied the dynamic dance partnership of Anton du Beke and Erin Boag from the TV show, Strictly Come Dancing, during their annual UK sell out tours. 2016 saw the couple back together again, with the Scottish Concert Orchestra, performing in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
